Carol Leonard, MS/CCC-SLP, FEES Specialist Consultant

Carol joined our team of FEES Specialists in January of 2012 with over 20 years of dysphagia expertise and mentoring experience. A graduate of Southern Connecticut State University, Carol has practiced in a variety of settings from home care to skilled nursing. Carol has a strong knowledge base in medical speech pathology, weighing quality of life with best practice effortlessly after years of working with medically complex patients. Carol’s additional specialty skills include swallowing and voice in the trach and vent dependent population.  


Erica Bell, MA/CCC-SLP

Territory Leader for Central MA

Erica joined SDX in December 2012. Erica received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the College of Our Lady of the Elms and her Master’s Degree from the University of Massachusetts. She is certified in the McNeil Dysphagia Therapy Program and is working towards completing requirements for her BRS-S (ASHA Board recognized Specialist in Swallowing). She has been practicing in western Massachusetts for the last 5 years working in a variety of clinical settings including patients’ homes, skilled nursing facilitates and hospitals where she has pursued her interests in dysphagia, voice and neurogenic communication disorders.  


Jennifer Rucci, MA/CCC-SLP, Senior FEES Specialist &

Territory Leader for Eastern CT & Rhode Island

Jennifer is a graduate of the University of Connecticut. Jennifer joined the SDX Team during her CFY in 2011 as an outpatient and homecare therapist. She also works as a Clinical Leader and CFY Supervisor for therapy companies in both CT and RI, servicing skilled nursing facilities. Jennifer is an active member of CSHA, and is involved in the Medical Speech Pathology Committee. Jennifer is passionate about supporting professional development and encouraging strong learning environments to develop well-prepared future SLPs. When she's not busy supervising and scoping, Jennifer enjoys spending time with her husband Matt and their two adorable girls at Disney World.     


Cheryl Rowe, MA/CCC-SLP, FEES Specialist Consultant

Cheryl has over 30 years experience in acute hospital, sub-acute rehabilitation, long-term care and home care settings. She joined SDX in 2003 and after 17 years as a Territory Leader in Central CT, retired her scope to transition full-time to the Director of Rehabilitation position at the Hospital for Special Care in New Britain.  In addition to her new leadership role at the hospital, she is currently completing requirements for her BRS-S (ASHA Board Recognized Specialist in Swallowing).  An active member in CSHA, Cheryl also chairs CSHA's Medical Speech Pathology Committee. Yvonne Mennuti , MA/CCC-SLP, Senior FEES Specialist

Territory Leader, Southern CT & Fairfield County

Yvonne is a proud Long Islander who loves spending time with her family and friends. Whenever she is back home, you can usually find her relaxing on the deck, taking in the view of Long Island Sound. Yvonne completed her undergraduate studies at Loyola University in Maryland.  In 2015, she earned her graduate degree at Hofstra University,  completing her neuro internship at an ENT office where she learned the value of FEES and developed her passion for dysphagia management and evidence-based treatment.  After graduation, she made the move to Connecticut to pursue her dream of helping others in the field of speech pathology. She has enjoyed the rewarding experiences of being a therapist in long-term care and acute rehab, and she is excited to grow professionally in the industry she loves.


Alicia Cox, MA/CCC-SLP, Senior FEES Specialist

Territory Leader for Central CT

Alicia joined SDX in January 2007. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Iona College in 2004 and her Master of Arts degree from the University of Connecticut in 2006. Alicia’s primary areas of expertise include dysphagia and neurogenic communication disorders in the geriatric population. Alicia covers FEES referrals for SDX in Central and Western Connecticut, as well as providing speech pathology services to several skilled nursing facilities in the Southington and New Britain areas.


Director of Business Development Kathleen Fitzgerald, MS/CCC-SLP

Territory Leader for Eastern MA

SDX was fortunate to hire Kathy Fitzgerald in 2017 to head up growth and development throughout New England. Kathy is a pro-scoper and dysphagia expert, having previously been Owner/Operator of her own mobile MBS and FEES companies.  An avid Patriot's fan, she also operates her own independent FEES training company nationwide and is working toward her ASHA Board Recognized Specialist in Swallowing status.


Vice President Katrina Woodward, MS/CCC-SLP, Certifed Dementia Practitioner

Katrina joined SDX as a FEES specialist in May 2005. Prior to enrolling with the SDX team, Katrina completed her Clinical Fellowship and FEES training at Hartford Hospital, later making the transition to work in sub-acute and long-term care facilities. Katrina collaborates with our talented staff to develop and market SDX’s special projects, contract staffing work and educational networking events. She is responsible for all aspects of SDX FEES and staffing business, including sales, customer service, and daily operations. Her primary clinical interests include dysphagia and medications, geriatrics, and ethics.  Katrina is also Connecticut's ASHA STAMP Representative and was the 2016 recipient of the CSHA Distinguished Service Award.
